This Privacy Policy explains how CoursFox ("CoursFox", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website (coursfox.com), our iOS app, and related services (together, "the service"). By using the service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Depending on how you sign in, we receive your email address and, where you choose to share it, your name. If you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier from that provider plus the email and name they release to us. If you register with email and password, we store your email and a securely hashed password.
- Content you upload. The PDF documents you upload and the courses, modules, lessons, and quizzes generated from them, along with edits you make.
- Quiz activity. When you or someone you invite takes a quiz, we store the answers, scores, and the name provided by the participant.
- Subscription information. Your plan (Free, Pro, or Ultimate) and its status. Payments on the web are processed by PayPal; in-app purchases on iOS are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled by the payment provider.
- Team information. If you create or join a team, we store team membership, roles, and invitations.
- Technical data. Basic data needed to operate and secure the service, such as request logs, IP address, and device/browser information.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and authenticate you.
- To generate courses, lessons, and quizzes from the documents you upload.
- To provide quiz sharing and show you the results of people who took your quizzes.
- To manage your subscription and apply Free vs. paid plan limits.
- To operate teams, invitations, and shared courses.
- To respond to support requests and contact messages you send us.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the service, and to prevent abuse.
3. AI processing
To generate course content and quizzes, the text extracted from your uploaded PDFs is sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) for processing. Please avoid uploading documents that contain sensitive personal data you do not want processed by a third-party AI provider. Each provider's use of data is governed by its own policies.
4. Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with providers that help us run the service, and only as needed to operate it, including:
- Cloud hosting and databases that run the application.
- File / object storage for your uploaded documents and generated media.
- AI providers (e.g. OpenAI) for content and quiz generation.
- Payment providers — PayPal (web) and Apple (iOS) — for subscriptions.
- Authentication providers — Google and Apple — when you use them to sign in.
- Email delivery for verification codes, notifications, and support replies.
When you share a quiz link, the quiz questions and the scores and names of people who take it are visible to you as the quiz owner. We may also disclose information where required by law.
5. Data retention & account deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — in the web app under Account, or in the iOS app under Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your courses, lessons, quizzes, and associated data from our systems, subject to any records we must retain for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us using the details below.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
